Projects + Clubs

Colleges want students who will add value to their campus communities and justify their investments in them. Traditional high school clubs include lunch meetings and bake sales. Our projects empower students to explore their curiosities, passions, and possible career paths by way of problem solving, research, collaboration, and a search for measurables. Students learn skills such as project management, vision boarding, prototyping, website building, graphic design software, video editing, event planning, and public speaking skills.

Take Action Projects

Using Global Leadership as an inspiration, Take Action! Projects is an active hour for students to take on their particular passions and interests. Traditional high school clubs include lunch meetings and bake sales. Our projects empower students to explore their curiosities, passions, and possible career paths by way of problem solving, research, collaboration, and a search for measurables. Global Leadership

Students must be connected to crucial global events that shape our present and most definitely will shape their futures. In this workshop, global events act as our texts. We discuss local, national and global politics, mass migration, economic shifts, injustice and inequality, regional conflicts and so much more. We use primary sources, ground our conversations in historical context, and consider ways we can engage with problems through projects. Our conversations are lively, respectful, and all-inclusive. Our goal is to ensure students know how to think rather than telling them what to think.

GLobal CInema

Film is the text that moves this generation of students. We must engage with films so that we can learn more about ourselves and the world around us. This bi-monthly project centers on films from around the globe --- from Italy to Palestine to the United States. Together, we research, watch, discuss, and appreciate films that enrich our understanding of humanity and our global community.

Global adventures

It is crucial for students to get on college campuses while they are exploring what makes a school the right fit. Los Angeles has an excellent sample of different types of schools, so we visit local college campuses-- from large private universities like USC to small liberal arts colleges like Occidental College. Colleges also tend to ask about what you have done and what makes you interesting. In Global Adventures, we help answer these types of questions by adventuring to cool performances, exciting exhibits, and significant cultural events. This is all in preparation to help students develop an amazing college application and apply to the right schools for them.
